About the Beacon Program

The University of North Carolina (UNC) Hospitals' Beacon Child and Family Program provides comprehensive, 24 hour coordinated care to UNC Health Care System's patients, families, and employees experiencing a variety of family violence. It includes services for children and victims of domestic violence, elder abuse, workplace violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking. Services are provided at UNC Hospitals, its satellite clinics, or over the phone.                                                            

Who is eligible for services from the Beacon Program?
Any patient, family member, or UNC Health Care employee who has experienced fear, physical danger, threats, emotional abuse, sexual abuse, or other violence who would like confidential support or assistance. The Beacon Program works with children and adult patients who have been impacted by violence.
